Submitting a Website to the Guitar Directory 

The LeadingNotes.com guitar directory is a free service provided for the benefit of the guitar community and any individual or company can freely register and submit their site(s) for inclusion.

We care about the quality and relevance of our directory and wish to keep it as useful as possible for our users. Therefore we are selective about what sites are included, so please don't take it personally if your submission is not accepted.

In order  to help us review you submission we have set up the following procedure & policies for submissions. Please read these before submitting your site as a failure to follow these rules & instructions will generally result in a submission being declined.

Have You Registered?

To assist in the smooth running of our directory, and to enable you to manage your own listing(s), only registered users can add to our directory. Registration is simple (and free), just follow the "Register" link on the User Login form on the left of the page. 

Is Your Site Appropriate?

We will consider for inclusion sites that are about

• guitars! (any type)
• guitar music (for example, artists, bands, events, styles)
• guitar related topics (for example, recording and sound engineering)

We will NOT consider sites that:

• are "Under Construction", please wait until your site is finished before submitting it
• are Mirror Sites, i.e. mutiple Url's but with the same content
• redirect the user to a different web site
• consist mainly of affiliate links
  

• have illegal content, are engaged in or promote illegal activity
• are already in the directory with a different Url, for example don't submit "http://www.mysite.com/index.html" if "http://www.mysite.com/" is already listed

Is It Already Listed?

Before you submit a site, perform a search in our directory to make sure that it isn't already listed. This saves everyone time.

Choose Your Category

Identify the category that you want your site to be listed in, which should be the single most relevant category. Sites submitted to inappropriate or unrelated categories will not be accepted.

Note that some categories don't allow submission - there is no "Add you listing here" link. In most cases there are specific sub-categories that can be added to, or a "master" category to add to (for example Guitar Manufacturers should be added to the "A-Z" sub-category only & we will assign them to other more specific categories as indicated by your description).

If you can't find any category that you think is appropriate let us know! Use the "Contact Us" page to suggest a new category (or categories) and where you think they should be placed. 

Submit Your Site Details

Once you've selected the best category for your website, go to that category and click on the "Add you listing here" link (remember to login first!). Provide all of the data required as indicated making sure that:

• you don't use ALL CAPITALS!
• the description accurately and objectively reflects the content of your site
• the description does not contain negative comments about your competitors!
• the description is in English (even if your website is not)
• you indicate the language of your website, if it is not English.

There is no absolute restriction on the length of your description, although we might to choose to wield the editorial scissors after a page or so of A4, at our discretion.

Also remember that on the summary listing page a user will only see the first paragraph (a few hundred characters) of your description, so keep it relevant...

After You Submit

A LeadingNotes.com editor will examine your submission and determine whether it is to be included in the directory or not. You will automatically be notified if your submission is accespted.

Please only submit your site to the directory once. Multiple submissions of the same site will not only be ignored but may also result in all of the websites in your account being removed.

Managing your site

Once your site has been included in our directory you can edit or delete the details as you wish (edits are subject to approval). For details of how to manage your website see the article "Managing Your Website Listing ".

Editorial Discretion

In order to ensure that our directory remains relevant we will exercise our discretion with respect to its content. This discretion includes (but is not limited to) whether your site is included, where a site is placed within the directory, the content of the title and description of the site and whether to include more than one link to a site. In the event of us exercising our disscretion we will always attempt to do this in a fair and reasonable manner.
